In 1944 American military forces invaded Guam.
Sergeant Shoichi Yokoi, a loyal Japanese soldier, hid in a
man-made cave in the Talofofo jungle until 1972, when local
farmers discovered him. The Guam Museum displays his
survival tools. The current cave is a replica of the real
one which has since collapsed. |
