Many of Guam's most elegant
hotels are situated on the strip of white sand bordering the sparkling
aqua waters of Tumon Bay. Guam's favorite coastal playground is
bordered at both ends by towering green cliffs, and provides the best
stretch of beaches on the whole island. Popular beaches that
make up parts of Tumon Bay include
Joseph
Flores Beach Park,
Matapang Beach Park,
Naton
Beach,
Gun Beach, and
secluded Faifa'i Beach.
All of Tumon Bay is protected by a natural reef that stretches out
about 1 mile from the beach shore making the bay great for swimming,
wind-surfing, snorkeling, kayaking and other popular water activities.
In most areas of Tumon Bay fishing and taking of coral is prohibited
due to the fact that Tumon Bay is a protected wildlife preserve.
In areas where fishing is allowed there are certain rules the
fishermen must follow, like when casting their fishing lines or nets
they must be standing on the beach and not walking into the water when
casting. At night the
northern area of Tumon Bay's shore is illuminated by hotels, beach
side bars and restaurants. Visitors can have dinner at one of
the popular hotel restaurants situated right along the beach or have a
drink while listening to some music at many of the beach bars along
Tumon Bay. Whether its day or night there is always something to
do along popular Tumon Bay for visitors. |
